Peaceful Presence Gathering
Friday, March 11, 7 – 7:30 PM
hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto via Zoom
In the midst of difficult times, Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice hosts “Peaceful Presence,” a monthly prayer service on the 11th of each month, offering a time of quiet multifaith prayer. All are welcome: those of all faith traditions and of no defined faith, those who are suffering at the hands of their own government, those who need a pause in the midst of intensive work on behalf of others, and all who would like to pray with others for the well-being of all. The prayer time will include elements from several religious traditions.
Meeting ID: 964 0463 4363
The theme for this month’s gathering is to recognize women, in honor of Women’s History Month, in whatever way individual faith communities see fit, whether as the feminine divine, women in the Scriptures, or the urgent need for gender justice worldwide. We will have contributions from the Christian, Jewish, Mulsim and Bahá’í communities. Given the urgent situation in Ukraine, we will also include prayers for peace in Ukraine.
